HERITAGE WEEKEND

The 28th Ballymote Heritage Weekend will be held this coming weekend, fourth, fifth, August 6 and seven. Lectures will be held in the Teagasc Centre in Carrownant­y with an admission fee of €10 per lecture.

The Saturday and Monday tours will depart from the Catholic Church car park at 9 a.m. each day. The Sunday tour will depart from the same assembly point at 2 p.m. The tour fee on Saturday will be €30 (including lunch). The Sunday tour fee will be €12 (no lunch) and the tour fee on Monday will be €35 (including lunch). For further informatio­n see website or phone 087 4169557.

CORRAN HERALD

The 50th issue of the Corran Herald will be in the shops at the end of this week. The Corran Herald is eternally grateful to more that 50 contributo­rs of articles, photograph­s and other material.

Ballymote Heritage Group has sincerely acknowledg­ed funding for the 50th Issue of the Corran Herald that was provided by Sligo County Council through the 2017 Community and Voluntary Grant Scheme-Community Heritage.

COLEMAN MUSIC CENTRE

Weekly summer Sessions at Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen. The Michael Coleman Story-This very special performanc­e tells the story of the world – renowned fiddle player Michael Coleman (1891 – 1945). The Michael Coleman Story will run on Wednesday, August 2, and August 23. Shows commence at 8.30 p.m.

Informal Junior Music Session continues from Saturday, August 5, and will continue each Saturday through August. Young musicians are invited to showcase their talent in music, song and dance.
