DVD OF WALK
A DVD of a walk from Ballina to Tubbercurry in May 1997 retracing the route taken by the famous racehorse, Ballyara Lad, transporting grain from Ballina to Tubbercurry during the Great Famine, is now available in the following outlets: Gillespies, Surlis’ SuperValu, Murphy’s Spar, K & B Hardware, Killoran’s Restaurant, Daybreak and Barry’s Pharmacy.
The DVD also includes a re-enactment of an eviction scene at Lough Talt by members of the Phoenix Players. All Proceeds are in aid of the Concern Famine in East Africa Relief Appeal.

COUNTRY MARKET
Drummartin Country Market (9km out the Ballina road from Tubbercurry, on right besides Joe Dan’s Pub) is open every Saturday, from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
GRAVEYARD MASS
The annual graveyard mass will be held in Kilmactigue New Cemetery on Friday, August 4, at 8 p.m. There will be a collection during Mass for the upkeep and maintenance of both cemeteries in Kilmactigue. Refreshments will be served in the Community Centre after Mass.
BINGO
Bingo is played every Tuesday night at Banada Abbey. €1,600 guaranteed payout every night, full house €200 on flier game and €150 on last game. New 50: 50 draw each night. First game at 8.30 p.m.
ACLARE LOTTO
The Aclare Community lotto is now €5,300. Tickets are available from Kennedy’s Supermarket, Aclare and from any ADC member.
