Couple safe after fire broke out in sitting room

A couple were brought to hospital as a precaution­ary measure after a fire broke out in their home in Rathbraugh­an Park last week.

The alarm was raised shortly after 1.30am on Thursday 10 th August. Two units of Sligo Fire Brigade, two ambulances and three Garda cars attended the scene. A spokespers­on for Sligo Fire Services said the couple were not injured in the fire which broke out in their sitting room. Separately, Gardaí are investigat­ing a fire at the old Herron and Sons warehouse in Finisklin last Tuesday night. No one was injured in the incident.
