Gardaí making progress in Carrick teen rape allegation

The Garda investigation into the alleged rape of a girl following a disco in Carrick-on-Shannon is said to be making good progress. Gardai are looking for a single suspect following the incident on Friday, July 28 at Cartown, Carrick- On-Shannon.

A statement of complaint has been taken by the girl but as yet no arrests have been made but Gardaí are said to be making good progress.

The girl is alleged to have been attacked after leaving the underage disco. She is said to have confided in a friend later who told her own mother who then contacted Gardaí.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was at the event on the night in question between 8pm and midnight, who may be able to assist with their investigation, to contact Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station on 071 9650517.
