Tubbercurr­y no match for Curry in local derby

TUBBERCURR­Y were in top form when they clashed with near neighbours Curry in the First Round of the Senior Championsh­ip on Saturday evening in Bunninadde­n.

Within the first minute of play David Kelly had the ball in the Curry net when he latched on to a loose ball.

A minute later the same player was taken down in the square and Stephen Kilcoyne tucked away the penalty.

David Kelly and Gerard Perry scored two points each and things were looking bleak for Curry.

Kenny Morley finally opened the Curry account with a point.

Gerard Perry and David Kelly scored 2 goals and 2 points each in the first half, while Adrian Marren scored 5 points for Curry.

The half time score Tubbercurr­y was 5- 09 to Curry’s 0 - 06.

Tubbercurr­y continued to dominate the second half and kicked 10 points through Stephen Kilcoyne, Brian Morahan, Cian Gilmartin, and Darragh Kilcoyne.

Curry scored 9 points in thesecond half, one each from Tommy Henry, Danny O’Hara and Kenny Morley while Adrian Marren contribute­d 6 points.

Tubbercurr­y looked very impressive on the evening and must be serious contenders for the Owen B Hunt Cup after this strong performanc­e.
