LOTTO DRAW

The Geevagh Community Resource lotto draw was held in Shivnan’s Bar on Saturday, August 5, for a jackpot of €8,400. The numbers drawn were 1, 4, 5 and 26. There was no winner.

The next draw for a jackpot of €8,500 will be held on Saturday, August 12, in Des McDonagh’s Bar.

The winners of €20 each were Cinders, Michael, Maureen and Tommy, c/o Shivnan’s; Stephen and Margaret Davey, Geevagh; Betty and Declan, c/o Gala Ballyfarnon; Emma McDonagh, Highwood and Harry Cooney, Ballyfarnon.

THE LATE MAI FLYNN

The sudden death occurred recently of Mai Flynn, formerly McDermott (née Furey), Corrigeenboy, Ballyfarnon, Co, Sligo.

Her remains reposed at Shivnan’s Funeral Home on Thursday evening. Removal took place to St Joseph’s Church, Geevagh on Friday for funeral Mass at 11.30 a.m. followed by burial in Kilmactranny cemetery.

Deepest sympathy is extended to her daughters Dolores and Collette, sister Kathleen, brother Tommy, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.
