Best of luck to all the Riverstown competitor­s who will represent Sligo at the national finals of the Community Games on Saturday, August 19, and Sunday, August 20, in Abbotstown, Dublin.

Dylan McKenna will be competing in the under-14 long jump and Oisin Conlon will be taking part in the under-12 Cycling on Grass. Best of luck to the four teams going forward. The under-13 mixed athletics relay team made up of Lara Swann, Dylan McKenna, Sarah McKeon, George Barlow and Ciaran Kenny.

The under-14 skittles team consisting of Patrick Barrett, Shane Dwyer, Conor McMorrow, Keith Merrick, Jamie Parke and Matthew Parke. The under-12 Skittles team made up of Jack Barrett, Jack Brehony, Oisin Conlon, Seán Kelly and Steven Smith and the Indoor soccer made up of This team was George Barlow, Brian Dwyer, Owen Elding, James Foley, Ciaran Kenny, Niall Kenny, Ryan Parke and Sam Tuohy.

Riverstown Community Games will be holding a church gate collection on Saturday, August 26, and August 27 in local churches. Any support would be greatly appreciate­d. This team was George Barlow, Brian Dwyer, Owen Elding, James Foley, Ciaran Kenny, Niall Kenny, Ryan Parke and Sam Tuohy. A huge achievemen­t for the team and their coaches who all worked extremely hard. Best of luck to them all as they head to the national finals in August.

SHAMROCK GAELS

There will be a used clothes, sheets, curtains, soft toys, shoes etc collection during the month of August. Please drop bags into the clubhouse before Saturday, August 26. For further details contact Michelle McMorrow at 087 6157455.

SUMMER STARS

The summer Stars Reading programme is continuing in Dromahair library. It’s a free programme and open to all children. Each child who registers can join in the fun of reading lots of exciting books during the summer.

At the end of the programme, all children who have participat­ed will be invited to attend our celebrator­y awards event. Those that have completed the six book challenge will have their names entered in a draw for the overall prize of a bike.

Drop into Dromahair library and join the summer Stars Reading Adventure.

There are still a few weeks to go, so start reading, keep reading, all summer long.

RAMBLING HOUSE

Riverstown CCE Rambling House Session will take place in the Morrison Teach Ceoil, Riverstown on Saturday, August 12, at 9.30 p.m. All musicians, dancers, singers and storytelle­rs welcome. Admission €10 with refreshmen­ts and food served on the night.
