CAPTAINS Day: LADY Captain Mary O’Connors day held on Saturday 12th august was an outstanding success, with perfect weather conditions and the course looking splendid. In her speech Mary thanked all the members who contribute so much in making her day a very enjoyable event, she paid tribute to the men who look after the course, also to the sponsors for their generous support to the club. COMPETITION on Saturday/ Sunday 19th/ 20th August was a 18 Hole Stableford the winner with a fine score of 41pts was Noel Costello with birdies on the 4th 7th and 10th 2nd place went to Colm Connolly on 37pts( Better Back six) 3rd place to Paul O’Reily on 37pts COMPETITION on 3rd, 4th and 5th of August was a 4 person Champagne Scramble it was a different format than the ordinary scrambles but it was an enjoyable 3 days of golf the winning team on 116pts was Michael Costello, Michael Connolly, Seamus Connolly and Colm Connolly. 2nd team on 112pts ( Better Back Nine) was Ciaran Dennedy, Damian Mullaney. P. Daly and Trevor Mattimoe. 3rd Team on 112pts was P. J. Kilcullen. C, McCann, K. Lynch and J. Frain. In the Golfer Of The Year Competition it is very tight at the top of the table with one Competition left Paul O’Reilly leads on 56pts closely followed by Peter Wilson on 54pts. Competition on Saturday/ Sunday 26th/ 27th August is a 18 Hole Stroke last competition in the golfer of the year Competition. Presentation of prizes for the weekly Competitions for the season will take place in John Doddy’s on Sunday Evening 27th August at 9pm. An Emergency General Meeting of the Ballymote Golf Club will take place on Friday Evening 8th September 2017 at 8pm in the clubhouse all members are requested to attend.
