PRESENTATION NIGHT
The women’s group from the Ballygawley area that has participated in the Dublin Mini- marathon for a number of years will make a presentation of the proceeds of this year’s event to the North- West Hospice and the Sligo branch of the Irish Kidney Association in Callaghan’s Lounge, Ballygawley on Saturday, September 2, at 9 p. m. It will also be an occasion to say a very special thanks to all who participated and to the sponsors. There will be music and refreshments on the night. Everyone is heartily welcome.
CHURCH GATE COLLECTION
Riverstown Community Games will be holding a church gate collection on Saturday, August 26, and August 27 in local churches. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
YOGA FOR BEGINNERS
Yoga sessions for beginners will commence in Sooey Hall on Monday, September 11, at 8 p. m. The fee will be € 10 per session or six sessions for € 50. Those interested should contact Deirdre at 089 2337378 for further information. Booking in advance is advised as spaces are limited. Drop- ins will be welcome subject to availability.
DEFIBRILLATORS
Defibrillators have now been installed at Sooey Community Hall, McTiernan’s Daybreak, Ballygawley and Kilross NS. The code to access the devices is 0000. It is important to follow the instructions on the cabinet carefully. These devices are available for anyone to use in the event of an emergency. CPR training will take place in Sooey Hall in September and dates will be finalised shortly. The organisers wish to everyone in the community that helped to ensure this initiative has been a success.
EAST AFRICA COLLECTION
The collection for the starving millions in East Africa which was taken up recently in the parish has yielded € 3,100 so far. A very special thanks to all who contributed so generously to this very needy cause.
