COMPETITIO­N on Saturday/Sunday was a 18 Hole Stroke weather conditions were close and humid and it made for an enjoyable weekend of golf the winner with a fine score of 68nett was Trevor Mattimoe with birdies on the 2nd 5th and 8th 2nd place went to Paul O’Reilly on 71nett (Better Back Nine) 3rd place on 71nett to Peter Wilson as this was the last Competitio­n in the Golfer Of The Year Competitio­n Congratula­tions to Paul O’Reilly on winning the Golfer Of The Year for 2017. NEXT weekend sees our club fundraiser taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September. It’s a team of 4 and can consist of gents, ladies or mixed and it’s €100 per team. Prizes include a overnight golf trip among many others.

CUP Competitio­n

ALL our cup competitio­ns this year have reached their semifinal stage. Players are asked to keep the last couple of rounds to schedule and best of luck to all players. CLUB Competitio­ns WINNERS of the recent competitio­n sponsored by Gulf Oil WAS Ray oGrady 38 Pts. Second Alan Martin and third Adrain McGoldrick. Winner of Tindel Wines was Gerald Tailly 37pts and junior winner was Sean Tailly. Winner of The Embassy Steakhouse was Benny Connolly with 34 Pts and second was Aiden McGoldrick. Winner on the Sunday also sponsored by The Embassy Steakhouse was Niall McLoughlin with 39pts. Second was Stanley Harte and third was Paul Mullen.
