25 CARD GAME

The season of progressive 25 card game commences in Carraroe Community Centre next Tuesday, September 12, at 9 p.m. We are looking forward to meeting all our regular players and hopefully some new people. Bring a partner but we can facilitate partners if necessary. Please pass the word around.

TREVOR MOYLES

A fundraising dance will take place Saturday, September 23, at 9.30 p.m. This year we are supporting the Alzheimer Day Centre Aughamore Carraroe. ST JOHN’S GAA CLUB

The lotto is now €11,000. Tickets can be purchased in the following locations: Applegreen, Pearse Rd.; Clifford Electrical, Carraroe; Crozon Inn; Gerry McMorrow’s Shop, Cairns Rd.; Blue Lagoon, Riverside; Cannings House and garden, Cornageeha and Molly Fulton’s Bar and Restaurant, Carraroe or any club member.

DANCE CLASS

Dance class followed by live band every Wednesday night in Carraroe Community Centre from 8.30 p.m. to late. Learn to Jive, Waltz, Quick Step and more. Beginners and Improvers welcome. Dance Classes will commence on Wednesday, September 6. For more information contact Frank at 087 9809432.

IRISH DANCING

LAKEVIEW ICA GUILD

We welcome all members back after the summer break. The September meeting will be held in Carraroe Community Centre community at 8 p.m. tonight.

The Sligo weekend at An Grianan is on next Friday, September 8, to September 10, for more information contact Mary Mulligan at 071 9166674.

The autumn federation meeting will be held on September 13 at 8 p.m. in Kilmactighe hall at 8 p.m., it is hosted by Aclare guild; we would ask all guilds to support this meeting.

Coolaney Guild celebrates its Golden Jubilee on Friday, September 29, at 8 p.m. in Coolaney Community Centre, it is an open night and all guilds are invited to come and celebrate with them. Thank you to all the members that took part in the annual walk for the Cancer Support Centre Wine Street Sligo. Sincere thanks to the guilds for sending in their sponsorship cards and monies.

The winter conference will be held in the Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth – more information will be available soon.

BOTTLE/CAN BANK

Cadra has been informed that Carraroe is approved for a recycling bottle/can bank. It is proposed to locate it at the car park beside the weighbridge. We want to hear all opinions on the proposal as part of a community wide consultation. All views will be considered and discussed before final decisions are made.
