Cycle to highlight greenway potential

-

A cyclist is about to undertake a journey from Enniskillen to Tuam to highlight the huge potential of a Greenway along our disused railway lines.

Brendan Monaghan will by joined by Sligo Greenway campaigners along the route this Saturday 16 th September.

Brendan says: “I will be leaving Enniskillen at 10am and expect to arrive in at the Yeats County Inn, Curry at 1pm.”

Pat McCarrick of Sligo Greenway Co-op said: “We are delighted to welcome Brendan. The development of this route from Northern Ireland, that will link with the Dublin Galway Greenway at Athenry, is essential if Ireland is to create a Greenway Network. It is also essential that Sligo is on this network to attract this type of unique tourism and indeed to provide local jobs. The completed Sligo Greenway will run for almost 40km.”

Sligo supporters who wish to join Brendan can do so from the Sligo Gate Filling Station at Collooney at approximately 12pm. Contact Sligo Greenway Co-op direct on 087 2512030.
