Workers using Riverside car park
PARKING charges may be brought in to the County Council Headquarters car park at Riverside in a bid to stop workers from town from using it for free parking.
The issues was raised at the Council meeting by Cathaoirleach Cllr Seamus Kilgannon.
Council Chief Executive Ciarán Hayes told members that “a significant number of people working in the town are using this area for parking.”
“I’ve asked staff to look at it. We need to provide parking for staff and customers. We do intend to deal with it.
“There may be a cost involved with whatever arrangements we bring in,” he said, hinting at possible parking charges.
