Sligo to have say on Airport zone
COUNCILLOR Paul Taylor has urged Sligo County Council to work with Mayo County Council on their plan for a new industrial zone around Knock Airport.
“I hope Sligo is making a submission to the plan. Knock Airport is only 5km from Bellaghy. Sligo and South Sligo can benefit enormously in relation to jobs and tourism,” he said. He was supported by Cllrs Margaret Gormley, Joe Queenan and Jerry Lundy.
Acting Director of Services Margaret McConnell told members that they would “actively engage with Mayo County Council, not least in the preparation of the planning scheme.”
“It’s vital that Sligo County Council has there say in it,” said Cllr Gormley.
