Involved in altercation
A 28 year-old man was arrested at 3am after he was involved in a street altercation.
Gardaí came across Joseph Farrell at Rockwood Parade and he was very drunk and had to be separated from an altercation said Inspector Donal Sweeney.
He didn’t leave the area when requested to do so and was arrested. He didn’t have any previous convictions.
Mr Tom MacSharry, solicitor (defending) said the defendant was the primary participant and should have gone home when asked by the Gardaí.
He had since moved to Mohill and hoped to take up farming. He had one dependant child.
Judge Kevin Kilrane applied the Probation Act.
