Man (25) killed in crash early on Sunday morning last
THE young man who died following accident on the Ballaghaderreen to Gurteen road on Sunday morning was 25-year old Stephen Coleman.
He was the sole occupant of a van which, it’s believed, hit a tree around 8am, according to Gardaí. He was from Drumacoo, Edmondstown, near Ballaghaderreen and it is understood he worked as a roofer.
Gardaí are continuing their investigation into the crash.
The single vehicle collision occurred on the R293 Ballaghaderreen to Gurteen Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Roscommon University Hospital where a post mortem was due to take place.
Many tributes have been paid to the late Mr Coleman on Facebook with friends posting heartfelt messages.
Stephen is survived by his parents John P., and Gaye, sister Sandra, brothers Shane, Tom and James and relatives. Funeral arrangements are due to be announced today (Tuesday).
