Martin Forde has issued a warning to anyone going on holidays to Spain after he was robbed in Madrid last week.

Martin was on holidays in the Spanish capital of Spain with his brother Eric when his wallet was stolen.

He claims there was €400 cash in his wallet, while there was €470 taken out of his back account after he used his card in Burger King.

“I was penniless over there.

Only for my friend in Belfast

I would have been stranded - he sent me money to get me by until I came home,” Martin told The Sligo Champion.

“I was in tears and I went to the Guards over there and there was loads of people there from Argentina and across the world crying cause the same thing happened them. The people who did this are wicked and ruthless. They have no conscience,” he continued.

Martin says he doesn’t want the same thing to happen to anyone else and he paid tribute to his brother Eric.

“Only for Eric I would have fallen apart. He kept me going. And only for my friend Stephen I would still be stuck in Spain,” he continued.
