Man found with ¤25 cannabis
A man caught with cannabis on his person for the second time has been convicted and fined ¤100.
Ashik Rahman (20) of Racecourse View, Cranmore, was found with ¤25 of cannabis on his person after he was stopped and searched by Gardaí at St Bridget’s Place on 13th March this year.
The court heard Rahman was given the benefit of the Probation Act for a similar offence on 18th July 2016.
His defence solicitor Mr John Anderson, said he was studying electronics at the IT and worked part-time.
Judge Kilrane pointed out to Rahman that Cannabis was illegal in this state and convicted and fined him.
“You got a chance before and I hear you’re at it again,” he told Rahman.
