GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Red Hawks Girls Basketball training will resume in the community centre Skreen on Thursday, September 21, as follows first to third classes from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. And fourth to sixth classes from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is €40 for one child €70 for two children and €90 for three children.
To ascertain potential numbers anyone interested is asked to confirm if their daughter will be partaking by texting 089 7000685 or 087 9321199 by Wednesday, September 20, with the child’s name and class required. Session times subject to change depending on numbers. Volunteer helpers will be most welcome. Registration will take place on the first night.
BRIDGE CLUB
Skreen-Dromard Bridge Club is restarting in the Skreen-Dromard Community Centre on September 19 from 7.45 p.m. to 10 p.m. The first 10 nights will be with a registered teacher. All levels welcome.
SOCIAL DANCE
The Tireragh Girl Guides are hosting the September Social Dance in the community centre, Skreen on Saturday, September 30, Admission is €10 the doors open at 10 p.m. And music for dancing will be provided by Ciarán Rosney. All proceeds of this night will go to the aid of the Victoria Thompson Scholarship.
Tickets can be purchased from Geraldine Kiely – from the community centre and on the door on the night. Your support will be deeply appreciated.
GIRL GUIDES RESUME
The Tireragh Ladybird Brownie and Guide Troop resumed their weekly activities in the community centre Skreen on Friday last, September 15, from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. New members welcome all year round and any girl from five years upwards will be accepted to join.
SOCIAL DANCE CLASSES
Social Dance Classes will start back in the community centre, Skreen on Wednesday, September 27, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. All abilities welcome to come along and enjoy the fun.
LOCAL COFFEE MORNING
A coffee morning in aid of the North West Hospice will be held on Saturday, September 30, from 10 a.m. in the home of Hugh and Helen Kilgallen and everyone is welcome to attend. Your support will be deeply appreciated.
TRACTOR RUN THANKS
James McLoughlin would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this year’s recent Tractor Run. A total of €2,055 was raised and it will be divided between the Order of Malta and the council for the Blind.
OX MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE
The Ox Mountain Challenge is a 10 mile road race which will take place on Saturday, October 8, There will also be a four mile fun run/walk event and a team relay event of four by 2.5 miles. Registration is now available online. Check the Facebook page for further details.
