1916 memorial plaque erected in Riverstown
C Company of the 19 th Infantry Battalion FCA Association unveiled a 1916 Memorial Plaque in the Sligo Folk Park, Riverstown on Sunday the 10 th of Sept.
The Veteran’s organisations were represented by the O.N.E, U.N.V.A and our own members turned out in large numbers. It was also attended by the Defence Forces, An Garda Si- ochana, Civil Defence, Public Representives and the general public.
The event was a huge success and was greatly enhanced by the participation of the Defence Forces and our own Association Colour Party.
The National Anthem was sung during the Ceremony by Riverstown native Mairead Tuohy.
