On Friday the 6th of October, Hotbuckle Production­s bring their new adaptation of Wuthering Heights to the Hawk’s Well Theatre where they start their Irish tour. With their distinctiv­e st yle - lightning fast costume changes and humour - this Shropshire-based theatre company adapts classic novels, telling the tales with humour and emotion, aiming to make them accessible for ever yone. Emily Bronte’s only novel, set on the windswept Yorkshire moors, is a timeless Gothic classic of passionate l ove, revenge and despair. Brontë’s only novel is widely considered as one of the greatest works of fiction ever written. Wuthering Heights is a wild, passionate stor y of the intense and almost demonic l ove between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, a foundling adopted by Catherine’s father. After Mr Earnshaw’s death, Heathcliff is bullied and humiliated by Catherine’s brother Hindley and wrongly believing that his l ove for Catherine is not reciprocat­ed, l eaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years l ater to exact a terrible revenge for his former miseries.
