On Friday the 6th of October, Hotbuckle Productions bring their new adaptation of Wuthering Heights to the Hawk’s Well Theatre where they start their Irish tour. Emily Bronte’s only novel, set on the windswept Yorkshire moors, is a timeless Gothic classic of passionate l ove, revenge and despair. Brontë’s only novel is widely considered as one of the greatest works of fiction ever written. Wuthering Heights is a wild, passionate stor y of the intense and almost demonic l ove between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, a foundling adopted by Catherine’s father. After Mr Earnshaw’s death, Heathcliff is bullied and humiliated by Catherine’s brother Hindley and wrongly believing that his l ove for Catherine is not reciprocated, l eaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years l ater to exact a terrible revenge for his former miseries.
