-

SLIGO Rovers FC have announced that Aurivo is partnering its Connacht Gold brand as the official sponsor of the U19s for the remainder of the 2017 and also the 2018 season. Aurivo CEO Aaron Forde said: “Aurivo is delighted to partner our Connacht Gold brand as the official sponsor of the Sligo Rovers U19 team for 2017/2018. As a community based football club, Sligo Rovers has brought a long and proud history of soccer to Sligo and its surrounding counties.

“As they continue to invest in the young players of tomorrow and develop a centre of football excellence, we are proud to support their vision of ensuring Sligo Rovers continues to operate as an integral part of the community. We wish the players and management team the best of luck for the season and look forward to working together throughout the year,” Mr Forde said.

Club chairman Martin Heraghty welcomed the sponsorship and involvement of Aurivo with the club. “We are delighted to have Aurivo, a major indigenous company, supporting our under 19 team. The team have recently qualified for the quarter finals of their national league and we hope that they can go on to achieve gold this first season under the Connacht Gold sponsorship. We look forward to the development of the partnership with Aurivo in the years ahead”.

Sligo Rovers underage structure now extends to under 19, under 17 and under 15 teams competing in their respective League of Ireland competitions. This is a recent very positive development for the Club and the success being achieved by Sligo Rovers underage teams this year augurs well for the future of the club. The underage structure reinforces Sligo Rovers role in the community providing regular competitive football for young players in the region and opening up a pathway for aspiring players to senior football. It is also consistent with the club’s strategy for the development of the Showgrounds as a centre of excellence for football.
