8K FUN RUN

There will be an 8K Fun Run/ walk plus a Mini/children’s run on Sunday, October 1, in Riverstown at 2 p.m. Registrati­on will take place in Little Buddies on Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. And before race from 1 p.m. to 1.45 p.m. Both races will begin promptly at 2 p.m. This is a timed event. Mini race/walk to include Community Park. Suitable for younger children and pushchairs. Walkers welcome on both routes. All proceeds in aid of Little Buddies. Entry: Adult €10, child €5. Family €25. Refreshmen­ts will be available after event.

HOSPICE THANK YOU

Thank you to everyone who baked, supported or attended the Coffee Day fundraiser held recently in Riverstown Pharmacy in aid of the North West Hospice. This event raised €2,945. Well done to all involved.

POTTERY CLASSES

Beginners Pottery classes will be starting on Tuesday, October 3, in Cooper Memorial Hall, Riverstown at 7.30 p.m. Course will run for four weeks. Learn how to work with clay. HARVEST SERVICE

Taunagh Church of Ireland will be holding its annual Harvest Thanksgivi­ng service on Friday, October 6, at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Service will be followed by refreshmen­ts in the Cooper Memorial Hall.

Sean nós dancing classes are back with Eimear Mulvey in the Morrison Cottage, Riverstown from Sunday, September 24. Beginners 11.30 a.m. to midday, Intermedia­te 12 to 12.30 p.m. And Advanced 10.15 to 11.15 a.m. Registrati­on night for new mem- bers will take place on Monday, September 11, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Morrison Cottage. SAFETY TRAINING

The following safety courses will be run in Millview House (Sligo Folk Park), Riverstown: PHECC First Aid Response (OOI Occupation­al First Aid) on Friday, September 29, and Friday, October 6, and 13. Cardiac First Response will take place on Saturday, November 4. Basic First Aid will take place on Saturday, November 18. ADR/Hazchem Tanker Training also available.

SHAMROCK GAELS

The club will be hosting ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ on Friday, November 17, in the Clayton Hotel. This will be a major fundraisin­g event for the upkeep and maintenanc­e of the main pitch in Coola and also the Gaelic pitch in Riverstown Park. Any support would be greatly appreciate­d.
