RECENT DEATHS

THE death took place at his residence on Monday, September 18, last of Martin Walsh, Carrentemp­le, Gurteen. A popular and well-liked member of the community he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His remains reposed at his residence on Tuesday afternoon and were removed to St Patrick’s Church, Gurteen on Wednesday afternoon for his Funeral Mass and burial took place afterwards in Carrentemp­le Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Madeline, daughters Carol, Maria, Sheila. Martina and Geraldine, son, David, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild­ren, sisters Maureen and Celia, brothers Christy, Edmund and Leo, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends to whom deepest sympathy is extended. May he rest in peace.

THE death took place on September 10 in Manchester of Christy Regan a brother of the late Betty O’Dowd, Mullaghroe. Funeral will take place in Manchester on next Thursday. Sincere sympathy is extended to all his nephews, nieces and all his relations and friends. May he rest in Peace.

THE death took place on September 11 of Eileen Murray née Beirne, Boyle wife of the late John P. Murray late of Taverane Cloonloo. Sincere sympathy is extended to his daughters Fiona and Fidelma and to all the relations on their bereavemen­t. May she rest in peace.

GURTEEN ACTIVE AGE

Gurteen active age group weekly meetings on Mondays at 2.30 p.m. in Ceolaras Coleman. In order to keep going regular and new members are needed.

Usual bingo on Friday night in Gurteen Hall at 8.30 p.m. Jackpot €1,600 in 45 calls or less plus lotto raffle €1,000. Proceeds goes for hall upkeep and Eastern Harps GAA Club.
