Average price of three bed has risen
THE price of an average three-bed semi in county Sligo has risen 4.3% to €107,500 in the last three months, according to a national survey carried out by Real Estate Alliance.
The REA Average House Price Survey concentrates on the actual sale price of Ireland’s typical stock home, the three-bed semi, giving an up-to-date picture of the property market in towns and cities countrywide to the close of last week.
In Sligo town the price of a three-bed semi has risen 12.5% in the last year to €135,000 (3.8% in the past three months) and homes there now take just four weeks to sell.
“There is less supply of bank and receivership sales and confidence is increasing gradually,” said Roger McCarrick from REA McCarrick and Sons.
“There is continued evidence of Irish emigrants purchasing in anticipation of returning home within the next few years.”
The average semi-detached house nationally now costs €221,843, the Q3 REA Average House Price Survey has found – a rise of 3.1% on the Q2 figure of €215,269.
