Banged on the door of his mother-in-law’s

A 41-year-old man who was banging on the door of his mother-in-law’s house had his case adjourned for monitoring.

William Kelly of Garavogue Villas was summoned for offences under the Public Order Act following his arrest at McNeill Drive, Cranmore on July 12 th last.

Gardaí were called to the house and were told Kelly was no longer welcome there. He was taken from the house but refused to leave the area.

He had 44 previous conviction­s. Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor (defending) pleaded that while the defendant had a very bad past there was a number of recent years when he hadn’t been in trouble.

Kelly told the court he had one too many to drink that night having been three years off alcohol.

He was in a permanent relationsh­ip.

Judge Kevin Kilrane said he was a bit concerned and was going to adjourn the case to March 15 th next for monitoring.

He also ordered that a Probation report be prepared.
