Ballymote primary care centre to open in November

-

THE new Primary Care Centre in Ballymote is described by the HSE to be “at an advanced stage and is scheduled to be operational from the end of November”. It follows a request for an update and expected opening date by local Councillor Keith Henry.

Cllr Henry, who is the Vice Chair of Health Forum Committee, has been keeping in contact with officials since the building started, and tabled a number of questions as well as met with HSE Estates staff. He said “people are keen to know how progress is going as building is completed on the outside. It’s mainly internal work being carried out at the moment with the car park to be surfaced in late October or early November”.

“A full range of Primary Care Services will be operating from the new Centre. For example, Public Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Psychology Services, GP Services and Podiatric Services. There will also be multi-disciplinary bookable rooms available for visiting Clinicians/Services. The Centre will also provide a full range of Community Mental Health Services” Cllr Henry said.

No official opening date has been set yet.
