WELL DONE LEE

The 2017 Gold Medal Awards in association with Hotel and Catering Review magazine were announced recently and there was one winning category in Sligo. That award went to the Draft House in Strandhill in the category of Ireland’s Casual Dining Experience. Local man Lee Mastin is head chef in the Draft House and he and his team are wished continued success.

NEW BENCHES

Two new benches provided by the parish and which were made by the Geevagh Men’s Shed, were presented recently to each of the schools in the parish. The thinking behind this initiative is for the bench to be a visual reminder to be inclusive in the playground. They are painted in bright colours and the slogan is ‘Be a Buddy not a Bully’. Hopefully it will have a positive impact on all the children and indeed everyone who takes the time to read it.
