OCTOBERFES­T Octoberfes­t at Rathcormac Craft Fair and Village takes place on Saturday, October 7th from 11am. This will be a full day of music, dance and storytelli­ng. Brush up on your knowledge, get the family together and join The Insurance Institute at Harry’s Bar, Rosses Point, for their Family Fun Quiz, in aid of the RNLI and The Insurance Charities. Two phenomenal voices from either side of the Atlantic singing songs from each of their traditions with a rare, raw passion and tangible energy. They tour in support of new live album, Bottle. Eliza Carthy and Tim Eriksen are two of the most respected voices in traditiona­l folksong. They come to the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Thursday, October 5th.

INVITED SMALL WORKS EXHIBITION

The Hyde Bridge Gallery warmly invites you to the opening of the ‘invited small works exhibition’ at the Hyde Bridge Gallery which starts today, Tuesday (October 3rd) from 5.30pm. The exhibition runs until November 7th, and includes artists such as Tina Brooks, Susan Early and many more. 5

WUTHERING HEIGHTS

On Friday the 6th of October, Hotbuckle Production­s bring their new adaptation of Wuthering Heights to the Hawk’s Well Theatre where they start their Irish tour. With their distinctiv­e style - lightning fast costume changes and humour - this Shropshire-based theatre company adapts classic novels, telling the tales with humour and emotion. OX MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE

The 1st Annual Ox Mountain Challenge is a10 mile Road Race / Mountain Run with a half way split. It is a Community Run that will take place on Saturday October 7th at 1.00 p.m. The Race this year it is in memory of the late Conor Brady. Proceeds from this year’s run will go to a Club Conor held dear to his heart, St Patricks G.A.A Club.

INDIAN After a sell-out concert last year, Indian bring their Chihuahua/Toads in Butterfly Clothes concert back to the theatre on Saturday, October 7th. This concert will also be recorded for a future live cd so don’t miss this one-off chance to sing your lungs out and be part of the night for…. eternity!

MURDER MYSTERY AT YEATS COUNTRY HOTEL

A murder mystery night will take place at the Yeats Country Hotel in Curry from October 6-8. The event will be hosted by The Fall Guys Ireland. You can come in your themed costume or just in Fancy Dress if you wish. So beg, borrow or steal a costume as a special prize will be awarded for the best fancy dress outfit overall.

WALK4FAMIL­IES SLIGO

On the 7th/8th of October 2017, The Ronald McDonald House Charity will be holding its annual #Walk4Famil­ies event in various locations nationwide. The Sligo event takes place on Sunday, October 8 at 2pm in Doorly Park.

HISTORIC GARDENS CONFERENCE

Lissadell House will host a conference from Thursday, October 5th until Saturday, October 7th about historic gardens and restoring, preserving or conserving. There will be numerous talks for the duration of the event.
