Fashion on food high on the agenda for showcase event

A major fashion and food summit has just been announced for Sligo

The brainchild of Sligo fashion graduate, Joanne Costello, the event will take place this November 3rd to 5 th. Joanne, who attended the prestigiou­s Central St. Martin’s College of Art and Design in London explained: “The inaugural Irish Internatio­nal Fashion and Food Summit will feature some of Ireland’s best chefs, internatio­nal and national industry and business experts and a series of workshops at various venues across Sligo.

She added: “The three day event will see numerous presentati­ons and exciting opportunit­ies for audiences to interact with a wealth of Culinary Personalit­ies, including Danni Barry, (Eipic Restaurant, Belfast), the mercurial Mickael Viljanen, (Greenhouse Restaurant, Dublin) legendary food pioneer Denis Cotter (Paradiso, Cork), Jess Murphy (Kai, Galway) and Prannie Rhattigan (Seaweed Kitchen, Sligo).”

Event Director Philip O’Brien said: “The culinary aspect to the IIFFS is very exciting, we have such an abundance of talented chefs, producers and food entreprene­urs in Ireland that all who attend the food series should learn and gain inspiratio­n. One of the aims of the IIFFS is to generate debate and profile for Irish culinary reputation internatio­nally.
