THE first outing of The Strandhill Junior Alliance was held in sunny but blustery conditions on Thursday 5th October with 76 people playing from 12 clubs. Men’s: A weekend of contrastin­g playing conditions, Saturday was wet and drizzly and the honours went to Paul Byrne who negotiated his way round the course on 3up to win the Voya Seaweed Baths VPar Comnpetiti­on well done Paul, one of our most consistent golfers in 2017. The conditions on Sunday were a complete contrast and summer conditions returned for a day. Pat Hickey played great golf and won the Cunningham School of Motoring Stableford competitio­n with 38 points.
