MITCHELL Sisters Independent Living Campaign committee have been busy organising various events and seeking sponsorship.

On Thursday last the 12 th Oct they had a very successful Table Quiz in Castle Dargan hotel. Over €3,500 was raised.

This is very substantial for a table quiz. Forty tables turned out in support of the cause. Jim Doyle was the Quizmaster and there were questions to suit all ages and levels.

The winning team were Frances and Emer Kelly, Alison Mannion,Vanessa Sweeney and Marie Mc Tiernan. In second place were Eamonn Mullen, Eugene and Ann Fox and John Paul Gaughan. Third prize went to Kevin and Terence Harte, James Kilfeather and Mel McDonagh. There was a raffle with lots of spot prizes. Top raffle prize was a weekend break in the Croke Park Hotel sourced by Sean Sweeney and won by Micky McTiernan.

Breege in Castle Dargan said: “It is a clear reflection of how well the Mitchell family are thought of. It’s a concrete example of the goodness and caring in our community.

“Far too often we hear the negatives but I can assure you friends and neighbours are rock solid when needed.

“It is inspiring to see how the Ransboro/Strandhill community, their extended family and friends are full square behind the Independent Living project”.

Breege went on to say: “It’s only right and proper that these two girls be able to live out their lives living in their own area”
