SCHOOL TRANSPORT

A meeting of parents, local councillors and TD’s is arranged for next Monday, October 23, at 9 p.m. in the community centre to discuss the School Transport Service review as its not only a local issue, but it’s a national issue.

In relation to the Bunninadden/ Killavil school transport service to St Attracta’s Community School, Tubbercurry Bus Eireann issued a letter on August 1, stating ‘the existing route will remain in place for the 2017/2018 school year pending a detailed route analysis as announced by Minister Halligan, identifying where there will be substantive changes to the route network or vehicle size from September 2018 to reflect eligible children’.

It is hoped to have a good attendance at this meeting to put a case forward to enable our TD’s impress upon Minister Halligan and his officials the importance to retain the service and route that is currently in place.
