FOOD FESTIVAL

The Strandhill food festival which took place last Saturday was a marvellous success with an array of food producers, food critics and foodies in general on hand to provide a fantastic festival. It promises to be a terrific annual event.

PEOPLES MARKET

The Strandhill Peoples market returns to the Airport Hanger in Strandhill from 11 to four every Sunday. For more informatio­n contact strandhill­peoplesmar­ket@gmail.com. With over 40 stalls weekly showcasing the best in local produce, music and arts and craft its an ideal way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

MOBILE LIBRARY

The Strandhill Mobile Library stop, visits every third Wednesday, It operates a schedule every three weeks, so it does not fall on the same week every month. For exact dates visit sligolibra­ry.ie.

MONEY FOR STRANDHILL

The recent announceme­nt by the Minister that €80,000 will be allocated to Strandhill for the developmen­t of a tourism hub is a welcome developmen­t to teh village. Congratula­tions to the Strandhill Community Developmen­t Committee for the preparatio­n of the submission in conjunctio­n with Sligo County Council. Also congratula­tions to the SCDA on the recent presentati­on to the bank of Ireland Enterprisi­ng Towns judges on showcasing Strandhill – the winning entry is inline for a possible top prize of in excess of €20,000. The results will be in November.
