OLD FAIR DAY

Tubbercurr­y Old Fair Day Festival AGM will take place on Thursday, October 26, at 8.30 p.m. in An Chroi – South Sligo Enterprise Centre. Everyone welcome and spread the word.

DRAMA FESTIVAL

The Western Drama Festival committee are busy preparing for the 2017 One Act Drama Festival which runs from Thursday, November 16, to Saturday, November 18. An excellent programme of plays will be on offer, being performed by the top groups in the country. There’s something for everyone so put the dates in your diary.

ROCK GIG

Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena GAA are thrilled to announce the confirmati­on of an event sure to have a huge appeal near and far. ‘TubbeRocks’, A major rock gig headlining the superb talents of Sligo musicians, Shane McGowan, Séamie O’Dowd, Kieran Quinn, Ken McDonald and Donal Cunnane will take place in St Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurr­y on Friday, October 27, This brilliant band of legends are widely renowned and tickets are sure to be in great demand. The support acts have been announced as Lana Moore, Daragh McDonagh, Colin Marren and Fergus McGowan.

All proceeds go towards the Nace O’Dowd Park developmen­t fund. So save the date and be sure not to miss out. Late bar on the night. Tickets, at €15, are now available from event organisers and from MIcky Macs Bar, Computer.

SOUTH SLIGO AC

South Sligo athletic club junior training is back in action every Tuesday evening under the watchful eye of our trainer Dermot McDermott and our very own coaches. Training takes place in St Attracta’s Hall for 6, seven, eight-year-olds 6.30 p.m. to 7.15 p.m. And nine years plus 7.15 p.m. to 8 p.m. Senior training is also every Tuesday evening meeting at the FRC car park at 8.30 p.m. Club members also meet every Thursday evening and Saturday mornings for training sessions to cater for all abilities. BEEZNEEZ THEATRE

The Beezneez theatre company present ‘’an Ordinary Man’’ with accomplish­ed actor Gerry Farrell in a one man comedy show, written by that well known popular playwright and noted director John McDwyer. This show comes to Cloonacool Community Centre on Sunday, October 22, at 8 p.m., on a first come first served basis. So don’t be late. This is a show that is guaranteed to bring audiences from tears to laughter, as it recounts one man’s journey from the cradle to the grave. A show not to be missed.
