Flower bulb planting will soon take place and all help is appreciate­d. This is an excellent idea and one which will provide a glorious visual enhancemen­t at various locations and junctions around the parish next Spring.

NACE O’DOWD PARK

Many thanks to all the businesses who have come on board as park sponsors in recent months. Sponsorshi­p opportunit­ies still remain. We are very proud now to have a top class facility available to the park users. Proof of the investment can be seen for all with the pitch in excellent condition despite all the recent heavy rainfall. The new walking/running track is proving to be a real hit, with many locals already utilising the facility.

TUBBEROCKS

Preparatio­ns are well under way for the Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena GAA event sure to have a huge appeal near and far. ‘TubbeRocks’, A major rock gig headlining the superb talents of Sligo musicians, Shane McGowan, Séamie O’Dowd, Kieran Quinn, Ken McDonald and Donal Cunnane will take place in St Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurr­y on Friday, October 27.

This brilliant band of legends are widely renowned and tickets are sure to be in great demand. The support acts have been announced as Lana Moore, Darragh McDonagh, Colin Marren and Fergus McGowan. All proceeds go towards the Nace O’Dowd Park developmen­t fund. So save the date and be sure not to miss out. Late Bar on the night and shuttle bus service available. Doors 9 p.m.

Tickets, at €15, are now available from event organisers and from MIcky Macs Bar, Computer Bits, Homeland Achonry, O’Grady’s Coolaney, Gormley’s Ballymote and Anderson’s Bar Sligo. Booking early is advisable as they are selling fast.

25 CARDS TIME CHANGE

The 25 card drive continues every Friday in St Nathy’s Hall at the new time of 8.30 p.m. from October 20 for the winter.

SOPHIA HOUSING

Sophia Housing Tubbercurr­y are hosting a bric-a-brac sale every Thursday until October 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. All support welcome.

SOCIAL DANCING

Social dancing continues in St Nathy’s Hall every Monday at 8 p.m. for beginners and 9 p.m.
