EASKEY LEAP GROUP
Easkey Leap group are taking part in the Lip Sync fundraiser with ‘Leap with the Two Lords a Leaping’ and will hold a Fun Quiz night on Friday, October 20, at 9 p.m. in the Castle Inn. A Duck Race will be held at Pol Gorm on Sunday, November 5, at 12.30. All money raised going to the Sea Blues.
NANCY TEMPANY R.I.P.
The death has taken place of Nancy Tempany, Barnacoghill, Templeboy. Her remains were removed from Sweeney’s Funeral Home to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Templeboy for funeral Mass. Burial took place in St Mary’s Cemetry, Skreen. Sympathy is extended to her family and relatives.

WEST AWAKE HONEY SHOW
The venue for this year’s West Awake honey show is the community centre in Dromore West on Monday evening, October 23, at 5 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Entries will be taken till 4 p.m. on the day. There is an art and poetry competition for children from local schools. There will be a lecture by renowned author, Mark Winston from Canada and Michael Badger OBE from the UK, who will also judge honey and related products on the show bench. LIP SYNC
Easkey GAA presents Lip Sync on Saturday, November 18, in the Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone. There will be 12 groups of local volunteers taking part. All money raised will go to support the young, up-and-coming Sea Blues players, so please help by supporting all the fundraisers that each act will be having over the next few weeks.
ORANGE TIE BALL
Enniscrone has been chosen to host this year’s Cycle Against Suicide ‘Orange Tie Ball’ which will take place in the Diamond Coast Hotel on Saturday, November 11.
CAKE/BRIC-A-BRAC SALE
A Halloween themed cake and bric-a-brac sale will be held on the Bank Holiday weekend October 28 and 29 in the Parochial House, Rathlee. Anyone with donations or items to sell for this fundraiser for Tidy Towns contact 087 2791427.
DIAMOND LADIES LUNCH
The Diamond Ladies Lunch in aid of SHOUT will be held on Friday, December 1, in the Diamond Coast. There will be a champagne reception at 12.15 followed by lunch at 1 p.m. Tickets available from usual outlets.
SCARECROW FESTIVAL
The Easkey Scarecrow Festival will be held from October 26 to November 12.To have exhibits ready for Halloween it’s time to get started on your scarecrow which bring more and more people to Easkey each year to have a look at the masterpieces.
HALLOWEEN KIDS’ DISCO
A Halloween children’s fancy dress disco will be held in Dromore West community centre on Tuesday, October 31 – 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are €2 on the door (all children must be accompanied by an adult). There will be DJ, face painting, games, treats, lots of fun for children of all ages and fancy dress. This event is being run by Templeboy Parent Toddler group in conjunction with Dromore West Village Enhancement Committee. All funds raised will go towards the revamp of the playground at the community centre in Dromore West.
LOTTO
There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on October 6. Numbers drawn were 3, 11, 14 and 24. €25 winners: Josh O’Brien, Aoife Clarke, Kayla Pazarli, Liam Kilgannon and Mary Scott Promoter’s prize: Chemist, Dromore West. Next jackpot €1,500 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the community centre at 8.30 on Friday night.
