The Sligo Champion

Two in a row for Tourlestrane GAA

-

TOURLESTRANE became the first club in Sligo to win two senior football titles in a row since St. Patrick’s in 1988/89 as they claimed the Owen B Hunt Cup with a 1-13 to 1-09 victory over Eastern Harps at Markievicz Park on Sunday afternoon.

Eamonn O’Hara and Gerry McGowan’s men were trailing by four points at the half way mark, but they fought hard in the second half to claim victory.

This is their sixth title in ten years, and their 13th title overall in the Senior Football Championship.

They will play the winners of Castlebar Mitchels (Mayo) and Mohill (Leitrim) in the Connacht Club Championship.
