Kilglass/Culleens Community Alert will hold the annual general meeting on Wednesday, October 25, in Sheridan’s Bar Kilglass at 9 p.m.

TABLE QUIZ

YOUNG AT HEART

West Sligo Young at Heart meet every Thursday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Dromore West Community Centre. Craft classes start on October 26 for the following six weeks. New members always welcome.

EASKEY LEAP GROUP

Easkey Leap group are taking part in the Lip Sync fundraiser with ‘Leap with the Two Lords a Leaping’ and are having fundraisin­g events with a flower demonstrat­ion on Wednesday, November 1, a race night on Saturday four, a Duck Race at Pol Gorm on Sunday, November 5, at 12.30. All money raised going to the Sea Blues.

BRIDGE

Bridge is played at the Diamond coast Hotel every Wednesday night commencing at 7.30 p.m. The results for October 18 are 1st Odette Casey and Christy McDonagh, 2nd Anne Freeman and Agnes Moran. First draw of the year took place and a very enjoyable night was had by all.

MUSIC/SONG FROM WW1

As records show forty three people from the West Sligo area were killed in the First World War 1914-1918. It is hoped to erect a memorial in Sligo to those people. LIP SYNC

Easkey GAA presents Lip Sync on Saturday, November 18, in the Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone. There will a number of groups of local volunteers taking part. All money raised will go to support the young, up-and-coming Sea Blues players, so please help by supporting all the fundraiser­s that each act will be having over the next few weeks.

CAKE/BRIC-A-BRAC SALE

A Halloween themed cake and bric-a-brac sale will be held on the Bank Holiday weekend October 28 and 29 in the Parochial House, Rathlee. Anyone with donations or items to sell for this fundraiser for Tidy Towns contact 087 2791427.

DIAMOND LADIES LUNCH

The Diamond Ladies Lunch in aid of SHOUT will be held on Friday, December 1, in the Diamond Coast. There will be a champagne reception at 12.15 followed by lunch at 1 p.m. Tickets available from usual outlets.

SCARECROW FESTIVAL

The Easkey Scarecrow Festival will be held from October 26 to November 12.To have exhibits ready for Halloween it’s time to get started on your scarecrow which bring more and more people to Easkey each year to have a look at the masterpiec­es.

HALLOWEEN KIDS’ DISCO

A Halloween children’s fancy dress disco will be held in Dromore West community centre on Tuesday, October 31 – 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are €2 on the door (all children must be accompanie­d by an adult). There will be DJ, face painting, games, treats, lots of fun for children of all ages and fancy dress. This event is being run by Templeboy Parent Toddler group in conjunctio­n with Dromore West Village Enhancemen­t Committee. All funds raised will go towards the revamp of the playground at the community centre in Dromore West.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on October 13.
