An evening of words, music and song from the period of the war will be held in Gillooly Hall on Saturday, November 11, at 8 p.m. Proceeds to go towards erecting a memorial to the memory of the eight men from Enniscrone and 12 men from Castleconn­or, killed fighting in the Great War 19141918. The third annual ‘Orange Tie Ball’ as part of the Cycle Against Suicide will take place in the Diamond Coast Hotel Enniscrone on November 11. ENNISCRONE-KILGLASS GAA

SURF AND TURF IS BACK - The extremely popular Enniscrone Surf and Turf fun run is back for 2017 on Saturday, October 28, with a start time of midday This has been a superb event in recent years and promises to be bigger and better again this October. We will once again have two courses available a 3k for under-16s and 5k for 16 and above. As always there will be plenty of fun and challengin­g obstacles to keep our participan­ts on their toes. UNDER 21 - Once again this year we are set to enter a team with Easkey in the under-21 A championsh­ip. This competitio­n is to get under way next weekend, with the first round against Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena. At the time of writing, there was no date, time or venue confirmed for this fixture. Best wishes to all the players and management for the coming weeks.

COUNTY SCENE – Well done to Gavin Duffy and his Sligo under-16 colleagues on their win over Louth at the weekend. Gavin started at corner forward.

COUNTY FINAL - Best of luck to the Western Gaels senior hurling team in their county final against Calry/St Joseph’s next Sunday. The game takes place at 2 p.m. in Markievicz Park before the senior football final. Several Enniscrone-Kilglass players are on the panel. FUNDRAISIN­G - An extra 10 blocks and bricks have been released due to the enormous demand for sponsorshi­p opportunit­ies for our indoor astroturf complex. BRIDGE CLUB

We play in the Diamond coast Hotel every Wednesday commencing at 7.30 p.m. The results for week October 18 after a draw was made are, first Odette Casey, and Christy McDonagh. Second Anne Freeman and Agnes Moran.

BLOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot €12,000 when the draw took place on Saturday night in McNulty’s Pub. Numbers drawn were 12, 19 and 33. €25 winners were Frank Rouse Hannah O’Brien, Chris Flynn and Peadar McGuinness. Jackpot for the next draw will be €12,200. And will take place on Saturday, October 21, in Sheridan’s Bar.
