2017 Sligo Science Festival co-ordinator Oli Melia said: “Science festivals offer a great way for the public, young and old, to engage and be inspired by science and technology and I believe Sligo science festival and ITSligo have shown to date, how they can be front runners in this field.”

“Science festivals balance entertainment with science messaging, offering chances to see, hear and participate in science, so no matter what your knowledge of science, there is always something at a science festival for you to engage with,” he said.

During the week, Sligo Science Festival will deliver a programme of free public engagement events, open days, science tours, talks, exhibitions, shows, workshops and school visits in Ballymote, Boyle and Sligo.
