Was five times over the limit

A driver who was five times over the drink driving limit was a binge drinker, Sligo District Court was told. “He’s a binge drinker and unfortunately this was one of those occasions,” said Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor who was appearing on behalf of Charlie Dolan (53) of 56 Garavogue Villas who was arrested at Cranmore Road on April 20 th last. The reading was 123 mgs of alcohol per 100mls of breath. He had a previous drink driving conviction in 2003. “It’s a shocking reading, the limit is 22mgs,” said Judge Kevin Kilrane who fined Dolan €100 and banned him for four years.
