Update on Lough Talt water Supply

An update on the interim measures to alleviate concerns about the Lough Talt water supply was sought at l ast Monday’s County Council meeting.

Cllr Margaret Gormley said it was important to get clarit y on the situation, as it could be 7-10 years before a new treatment plant is put in place.

Cllr Jerr y Lundy said Lough Talt was a “super source of water”, but was information was needed from Irish Water on the issue.

Tom Kilfeather said the council received no response from Irish Water in relation to notice of the motion, but they will be contacted again for a response.
