WOMEN’S GROUP

Killenumme­ry Women’s group are running a five-week exercise class with Sue on Thursday evening at 7.30 p.m. in Killenumme­ry hall. All ladies are welcome €6 per night.

The Women’s Group annual 5k walk will be held on Sunday next, November 19, at 2 p.m. Registrati­on from 1 p.m. in Ballinagar hall. Proceeds this year go to STOP Suicide, Spot prizes and refreshmen­ts in hall afterwards. A good afternoon is guaranteed.

NOVEMBER PRAYERS

Bereavemen­t Mass in St Therese’s Ballintogh­er on November 13 at 7.30 p.m., then in St Mary’s Killenumme­ry on November 17 at 7.30 p.m.

A Christmas Sale will take place in aid of STOP Suicide Manorhamil­ton on Thursday, November 23, at 12.15 p.m. in Our Lady’s Hospital, Manorhamil­ton. It will be in the Rheumatolo­gy Sitting Room on the Ground Floor. There will be Home Baking, Jams, Christmas Gifts (new), Ornaments, Lancome Hampers and a Homemade Christmas Cake for raffle. There will be bargains galore. Please support this worthy cause.

25 CARD GAME

25 Card Game continues in Killenumme­ry hall on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. Your support is very much appreciate­d.

CPR AND DE-FIB TRAINING

The Manorhamil­ton Defibrilla­tor/Community First Responder (CFR) group will hold its first training session on this Saturday, November 18, from 2 p.m. till 5.30 p.m. in the Bee Park Community Centre.

This training will be free as all the instructor­s are kindly giving their time at no charge. All participan­ts will be certified by the Irish Heart Foundation on completion of a six-hour course. This is an open training session and all are welcome to attend.

Booking for the defibrilla­tor/ community first responder (CFR) group training session is essential, as its organisers need to know how many to prepare for. Places can be booked by emailing manorhamil­toncfr@yahoo. com or by phoning 083 4282377 or by contacting Manorhamil­ton Community First Responder Facebook page and leaving a message there.

Anyone can learn CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitat­ion) and how to use a defibrilla­tor. Knowing what to do in an emergency medical situation (like cardiac arrest, etc) could mean the difference between life and death.

THE FIRST PROTESTANT

The resident North Leitrim Glens Centre’s Splódar Theatre Company’s latest play ‘The First Protestant’ is currently packing in audiences in many venues around the country.

Sligo theatre goers will have an opportunit­y to attend the ‘The First Protestant’ in the Factory on this Saturday night, November 18, at 8 p.m. Written by Manorhamil­ton’s, Gerry Farrell the play, in which he takes a leading role, is based on the German 16th century religious reformer, Martin Luther.

‘The First Protestant’ also deals with many other modern non-religious issues. Michael Roper plays Luther.
