SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the McGowan family Enniscrone, and Easkey, on the death of Bill McGowan Boston USA, and formerly Cloona, Enniscrone. Mass was held for the repose of Bill’s soul at midday in Lettermore Church, Galway followed by burial of ashes in the adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace amen.

WATERPOINT

Due to popular demand we have added an extra Aqua Aerobics class on Wednesday evening. We now have four classes a week Tuesdays and Thursday at 11 a.m. and Monday and Wednesday at 8 p.m.

ENNISCRONE IFA

Enniscrone IFA are holding our AGM in the Ocean Sands Hotel Tuesday, November 14, 9 p.m. Guest Speaker on the night Mr Tiernan Gill will speak on Trailer towing and what you need to know to be compliant with the Law. Everyone welcome to attend.

ENNISCRONE-KILGLASS GAA

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey under-21 team progressed to the semi-final stage of the A championsh­ip last weekend. They will play Tourlestra­ne in the last four in two week’s time. Training continues this week.

The under-16 Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey team play Tubbercurr­y/Cloonacool in the A1 Championsh­ip final on Friday evening at 7 p.m. in Scarden. Good luck to all the players and management.

County Scene – Best of luck to Declan Cawley, Michael Moyles, Con O’Meara and all the Sligo Masters (over-40s) in the all-Ireland Masters final against Mayo on Saturday at 2.45 p.m. in Ballymote. In the under-16 Fr Manning Cup, Gavin Duffy and his colleagues were beaten by Kildare last week. Gavin, Oisin Hynes and manager Michael Duffy were part of the Sligo under-15 squad contingent who spent a couple of days training in Kerry last week.

WALKING CLUB

The walk for this week Saturday, November 18, is Prebaun Loop walk. Level, is easy Terrain, is road and trail. Length: 10km.

SOCIAL BRIDGE CLUB

The Enniscrone Social Bridge Club is played weekly at the Diamond coast Hotel, commencing at 7.30 p.m. The winners for November 8 were, first Jack Kennedy and Gerry Boland, second, Anne Freeman and Mary O’Doherty.

BLOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot €12,600 when the draw took place on Saturday night in the Gilroy’s Bar. Numbers drawn were 9, 15 and 22. €25 winners were Paul Hannon, Lorna Bourke, PJ Wall and Robert
