WESTERN DRAMA FESTIVAL 2

SING FOR THE HELL OF IT

The Tubbercurr­y Western Drama Festival has announced an excellent programme of plays for their 2017 1 Act Festival which takes place in St. Brigid’s Hall on 16,17& 18 November. Check out the full line-up of plays featuring in the festival on the new website www.westerndra­mafestival.com.

The popular social sing-along evening, Sing for the hell of it! continues at the Hawk’s Well Theatre with two upcoming sessions on Saturday 18th and Tuesday the 28th of November. On November the 18th, Sing for the hell of it joins with the Sligo Choral Festival for a very special Sing for the hell of it at 5pm. Tickets for each night are €10 and are available from the Hawk’s Well Theatre Box Office on 071 916 1518 or www.hawkswell.com.

RUN IN THE DARK

Join The Mark Pollock Trust and thousands of fellow runners in Sligo on 15th November and support our ongoing mission to fast-track a cure for paralysis. The 5km route starts from Sligo University Hospital main entrance, around the mall, out through Wine St then Knappagh Road and out to Strandhill. There will be a marker at the 5k for those who wish to finish there, the rest will continue out to Strandhill to complete the 10k run. The finish line takes you to Strandhill beach.

CARLO GEBLER WRITING WORKSHOP

Carlo Gébler returns to the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Saturday the 18th of November. Running from 11am – 5pm, this is a one-day course for writers of prose, long and short, fiction and non-fiction. Especially for those who are looking to start, advance or complete a piece of written work, irrespecti­ve of style and format, this workshop with Carlo will prove an invaluable help.

AN AFFAIR WITH FASHION ROMEO AND JULIET

The event at Castle Dargan on November 19th will play host to a number of fun, fashion and beauty ideas for this year’s festive season. The event will be a showcase for the Christmas season and the venue will play host to a wide variety of stalls with gift ideas for Christmas.

Ballet Ireland return to Sligo on Monday the 20th of November when they bring their new production of Romeo and Juliet to the Hawk’s Well Theatre. Romeo & Juliet promises to delight and will always appeal to a wide-ranging audience regardless of age or background. However, the recommende­d age for this performanc­e is for children aged 8 and above. Tickets are available from the Hawk’s Well Theatre Box Office.
