Paddy McLoughlin match
THE late Paddy McLoughlin was honoured with by his many friends and family at a special fundraising match in the Showgrounds on Saturday.
Football mad Paddy died in August and his family wanted to raise money for Croí, a charity who helped them when Paddy was in hospital, both in Sligo and Galway.
Lots of fundraising was done throughout the region ahead of the event with proceeds assisting Croí providing their worthwhile services.
McLoughlin’s All-Stars, the team made up of Paddy’s family were the overall winners in an entertaining tournament with Glenview Stars and Cartron Cowboys also taking part.
Paddy was a huge Sligo Rovers fan his whole life and is greatly missed by all who knew him.
Organisers of the event paid tribute to him and thanked everyone who helped out in sponsorship, businesses who donated prizes, all who came along on Saturday and the teams for taking part.
It is hoped to become an annual event.
