SENIORS ALERT SCHEME

Carraroe and District Regenerati­on Associatio­n is now a registered and approved organisati­on for the provision of the Seniors Alert Scheme for Carraroe and surroundin­gs areas including residentia­l estates. We can arrange same for all surroundin­g areas including to Ballygawle­y, Ballintogh­er etc.

This scheme is available to anyone 65and over; it is monitored 24 hours and the monitoring costs are free for the first year. The usual yearly monitoring fee is €60 per year. We will be advertisin­g the scheme locally in coming weeks but anyone wishing to receive an applicatio­n form can email cadrasligo­1@gmail.com, or speak to any committee member.

The regular committee meeting takes place in Community Centre each Monday evening at 7.30 p.m. We welcome more people to get involved. Anyone interested in assisting or bringing forward ideas for considerat­ion please come along or contact any committee member or email cadrasligo­1@gmail.com.

VILLAGE RENEWAL GRANT

Cadra has commenced engagement with engineer of SCC to progress the various aspects including Footpaths, Lighting, Demonstrat­ion greenway from Carraroe to Ballisodar­e, Visitor Amenities on Cairns Hill.

We are anxious to have the support of all our community in the process but we will have to prioritise elements to give best long term benefit to the area.

As part of the process we will be undertakin­g a health check to look at future needs of the area and all residents input will be welcome.

PROGRESSIV­E 25

The progressiv­e 25 card game is in Carraroe Community Centre each Tuesday at 9 p.m. Joint Winners on 11 Games were Eddie McGurren/Tommy McPart land, Frank McGinley/David McDermott, Bernadette White/ Pat Clifford. Runner’s up on 10 Games were Vincent Melvin/Denis O’Connor. Bring a partner but we can facilitate partners if necessary. New players always welcome. Pass the word to anyone that might like to have a game.

ST JOHN’S GAA LOTTO

Jackpot: €11,400. There was no winner of the jackpot in the latest St John’s lotto draw. Winning numbers drawn were 5, 17, 18 and 25. €25 winners were Gerry Ryan, Ashbrook, Gerry McMorrow, Cairns Road, Justin McGolderic­k, Carraroe, Marie Lyttle, Aughamore. Next draw takes place on Sunday, November 26, in Molly Fulton’s at 6 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in the following outlets – Applegreen, Pearse Road; Clifford Electrical, Carraroe; Crozon Inn; Gerry McMorrow’s Shop, Cairns Road; Blue Lagoon, Riverside; Cannings House and garden, Cornageeha and Molly Fulton’s Bar and Restaurant, Carraroe.

DANCING

Dance lessons every Wednesday night in Carraroe Community Centre Sligo from 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Learn to jive, waltz, Quick Step and more. Beginners and Improvers welcome. Next wed night November 22 Andy Feery will provide the live music.

The other bands scheduled are as follows: November 29 Colm Burke December 6. Carmel McLaughlin, December 13 John Molloy, December 20 Colm Burke. The live band will commence 9.30 p.m. till 11.30 p.m..
