Tidy towns are to replace the mural defaced by graffiti
SLIGO Tidy Towns committee has strongly condemned the recent defacement of the mural leading up to Tracey Avenue.
Chairperson Peter Tiernan said: “It’s really disheartening for the committee and volunteers to see this type of behaviour when Sligo is taking great strides as a town in national Tidy Towns rankings.
“This has been achieved through the hard work of many local Tidy Towns groups such as the group based in Tracey Avenue who’ve worked hard and supported Sligo Tidy Towns over many years.”
Peter says if anyone has information on this incident they should report it to Gardai.
Sligo Tidy Towns will work on a replacement mural when weather conditions improve sometime from spring 2018.
