which was duly dispatched to the back of the net, past the despairing dive of goalkeeper Adam Broe. It was at this point that the home team really came into the game and took over. A string of points from the aforementioned Liam Gaughan, Darren O’Hara, captain Rian Kennedy, Mark Lundy and a goal from Conan Marren who popped up all over the pitch at this stage after a long delivery was carried over the goal line by the unfortunate visiting keeper. Full forward Ciaran Walsh was also an effective target man. As the excitement mounted the home support really got behind their team and drove them on to such an extent that they found themselves holding a two point lead coming down the home stretch, after their never-say-die attitude was fully cranked up. As the game was now in the melting pot the winners awoke from their slumber, and with all hands to the pump they re-grouped with captain Cian Gilmartin, Oisín Grehan, Brian Morahan, Liam Kerrigan, Matthew Mulhern, Luke Gilmartin and Conall Ryan leading the charge. With scores from impressive full forward Darragh Kilcoyne from play and a free, and the match winning score coming from the winners captain and midfielder Cian Gilmartin. And both sides can hold their heads high, as they fought tooth and nail to bring home the silverware, which was presented to the winning captain Cian Gilmartin by the chairman of Sligo County Board Joe Taaffe at the final whistle.
